Karanlık Oda Photography Collective

Founded on September 2010 by Tuncay Dersinlioglu and Erdem Donuktan. Collective's fundamental purpose is to create visual projects by means of documentary photography furthermore, collective share the projects with its audience in the areas of native and domestic publications, exhibitions, presentations, books, postcards and interactive courses.

Photographers of Karanlik Oda do not cooperate with the organ of any institution or publication, nevertheless, they may produce joint projects. Photographer (resolves) (designates) the subject and the way of story telling. Qualification of statement which told in photographs, must go beyond the aesthetic and formal elements of the photograph also avoid totally ignoring them by being effective and clear.

Collective considers to provide photographic source for national and international NGO's and aims to work together with independent photographers, collectives, agencies and foundations.

Karanlik Oda also arrange workshops in their own center in Izmir for individual attenders or companies. Basic, Applied and Digital Photo-Editing workshops are periodically on calendar. Additionally every year a documentary photography workshop is announced in october.

Karanlik Oda Photography Collective is open for the participation from new photographers. Every photographer is a candidate member of Karanl?k Oda who accepts the existence of different ideas, discusses tese ideas even the possibilty of not compromising on, respects all walks of life who doesn't think and feel the same way, avoids humiliating people by the way of telling his work.
